Is This Site for You?

This web site is dedicated to the women and men who operate the world's 200+ legal state operated lotteries. We have spent a career researching, writing and reporting on the global lottery industry.

There is little information that the average lottery player would find of value. The statistics we collect are by and large countable numbers audited by professionals collected and published by us. We primarily track information on lottery sales, prizes and net profit to government, advertising budgets and game design--both for TLF Publications' annual books (such as La Fleur's World Lottery Almanac) and our monthly magazine (La Fleur's Magazine).

SPIELO INTERNATIONAL 100% Successful in Bids for Canadian VLT Replacement

ROME (Italy), MONCTON (Canada), December 21, 2012 – Lottomatica Group S.p.A. subsidiary SPIELO International Canada ULC (SPIELO International Canada) has announced that it has recently signed a seven-year contract to provide Atlantic Lottery with its INTELLIGEN® Central System for video lottery terminals (VLTs). The contract follows a competitive procurement process, and it may be extended beyond the initial seven-year term, subject to the agreement of the parties.

With the announcement of this contract award, SPIELO International Canada has won all 11 competitive procurements bids in Canada. These procurements formed part of the most recent Canadian VLT replacement cycle, when provinces cyclically refresh their machines and the software that manages their networks (known as Central Systems).

“We are pleased to continue an enduring relationship with Atlantic Lottery, who was our first VLT customers when SPIELO International was founded in Moncton more than twenty years ago,” said Victor Duarte, SPIELO International Canada President and CEO. “Since then, our companies have enjoyed mutual success in providing innovative entertainment to Atlantic Canadians.”

Over the past year, SPIELO International Canada has announced signed contracts with customers representing the following eight provinces for the indicated products and services:

    •    Alberta: VLTs, Central System, and Player Experience Solution
    •    Manitoba: VLTs and Central System
    •    New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island: VLTs and Central System
    •    Quebec: VLTs and Central System
    •    Saskatchewan: VLTs and Central System

Reflecting more than 20 years of proven central system experience, INTELLIGEN offers stable, secure command and control capabilities uniquely tailored to operators of distributed and venue VLT environments. It interoperates with a wide range of VLTs using multiple protocols. INTELLIGEN was the first product to ever receive the Gaming Standards Association™ (GSA™) Game to System® certification as part of the GSA’s Certification Program.
