Is This Site for You?

This web site is dedicated to the women and men who operate the world's 200+ legal state operated lotteries. We have spent a career researching, writing and reporting on the global lottery industry.

There is little information that the average lottery player would find of value. The statistics we collect are by and large countable numbers audited by professionals collected and published by us. We primarily track information on lottery sales, prizes and net profit to government, advertising budgets and game design--both for TLF Publications' annual books (such as La Fleur's World Lottery Almanac) and our monthly magazine (La Fleur's Magazine).

Lottomatica Group Subsidiary GTECH Corporation Signs Five-Year Contract Extension with the South Dakota Lottery

ROME (ITALY) – PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), July 20, 2012 – Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that its subsidiary GTECH Corporation has signed a five-year contract extension to continue providing lottery products and services for the South Dakota Lottery.  The extension will extend the contract term through August 2, 2019.

“Since GTECH became the online lottery vendor in South Dakota in 2009, online sales have grown approximately 35 percent,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “We can attribute much of that growth to the great partnership we have established with the South Dakota Lottery – a partnership that fosters open communication, collaboration, and creativity, with a shared goal in mind and that is to keep the South Dakota Lottery moving forward and growing to even greater heights.”

“This contract extension represents our confidence in the technology and services GTECH provides the South Dakota Lottery, and the partnership that ensures the quality of those services,” said South Dakota Lottery Executive Director Norman Lingle.

Currently, GTECH provides the South Dakota Lottery with a full range of products including GTECH’s Enterprise Series (ES) system solution, 620 Altura® terminals, ES MultiMedia digital advertising displays, Ticket-Scan™ self-service ticket checkers, and an IP-communications network.  As part of the extension, GTECH will provide the Lottery with 600 LED jackpot signs and will continue providing the operation and maintenance of the Lottery’s online central system, terminals, and communications network, as well as field service, marketing support, and hotline services.  GTECH will continue operating from a primary data center in Austin, Texas, with a backup data center in Jefferson City, Missouri.
