ALPHARETTA, GA – June 5, 2012 – MDI Entertainment, LLC, a subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS), announced today the signing of an agreement with Zorro Productions, Inc. to license the marks and designs associated with the Zorro character and literary works for use on instant lottery games. These rights can be offered to all lotteries within the United States, its territories and possessions, and Canada.
“Zorro has been loved by generations for nearly half a century, and the name has become synonymous with fun, daring and victory,” said Steve Saferin, President, Properties Group and Chief Creative Officer for Scientific Games. “It’s an excellent brand for instant games, and has enormous cross-cultural appeal.”

Zorro was first introduced to the public by pulp writer Johnston McCulley in 1919. Since then, the character has starred in a multitude of books and television shows, as well as more than 40 films produced in the U.S., Europe and Mexico. Zorro-based video games, mobile games, slot machines and a poker machine also have been created.
With his famous cape, mask, hat and sword, Zorro is an instantly recognizable hero, embraced by people of all ages throughout much of the world. These iconic images, along with the trademark letter “Z,” are available to lotteries for the creation of eye-catching ticket art.
