| The 26-page Worldwide Sales Report tracks the calendar 2005 worldwide lottery sales by game and by continent for Africa, Australia, Asia and Middle East, Europe, Central America, South America and the Caribbean and North America. Seven categories of games are tracked: lotto/spiel, numbers, keno, toto, draw, instant and other. The category "other" would include such products as card lotteries, Super 66, online bingo and video lottery terminals (VLTs).All lotteries operating VLTs with the exception of the Rhode Island lottery and South Dakota lottery report VLT net machine income as sales in this report. The Rhode Island lottery and South Dakota lottery report VLT "cash in" as sales, which dramatically increases their per capita sales.Each lottery’s sales are tracked by game and converted to U.S. currency (in millions). Each lottery’s sales are also provided in local currency (in millions) for 2004 and 2005.The second set of tables ranks each lottery based on total ticket sales, per capita ticket sales, instant total sales, per capita instant sales, lotto total sales, per capita lotto sales, toto total sales, toto per capita sales, keno sales, per capita keno sales, draw total sales and per capita draw sales.The final table analyzes the lotto matrices offered in each country worldwide. Readers will also find each lottery’s total network and online terminal network displayed for ease of reference. |
